Keauhou-Kona Surf and Racquet Club

Kailua-Kona, Big Island, Hawaii

The Keauhou Kona Surf & Racquet Club is located south of Kailua-Kona, on the island’s sunny leeward coast. A favorite playground for residents and vacationers alike, the Kona Coast is drier and sunnier, perfect weather for growing rich coffee and macadamia nuts.

The ‘Big Island’ is the youngest and largest island of the Hawaiian chain, powerful volcanoes still spew fiery lava into the sea adding new acreage. Five volcanic mountains, two of which are still active, make up the island’s 4,000 square miles.

It is an island of many contrasts: parched, barren lava fields and hillsides abloom with wild orchids and exotic flowers; cool uplands and lush rain forests with breathtaking waterfalls; busy tourist towns and quiet villages where church services are held in the Hawaiian language.

Quick Glance:

  • It’s fun to go to the Kailua pier and watch the fishing fleet glide in with the day’s catch around 4:00 p.m. It’s even more fun to charter a fishing boat and angle for your own big billfish!
  • Back at your condominium, you can enjoy tennis courts, a swimming pool, and barbecue areas.
  • In a tour of the island, stop at the Waipio Valley Lookout, Akaka Falls State Park, and the Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden to see huge monkeypod trees and more than 1,000 species of plants.
  • Experience the Big Island’s most active volcanoes – Kilauea and Mauna Loa – and dormant Mauna Kea is actually taller than Mount Everest! Drive the rugged Ka‘u Coast to the Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park.
  • Close to everything, golf, shopping, restaurants, and ocean activities are just minutes away.
