Renovation/Construction Projects
Renovations

Interior renovations at the Sea Village Resort are only allowed from mid-April to mid-December (with a moratorium in October during the 2 weeks surrounding the Ironman race) per the Association of Apartment Owners Bylaws. Each year private Owners and VI take advantage of that time frame to schedule renovations in their unit. We cannot predict the impact those random projects may have on your vacation.

Building 3 Garden and Building 3 Ocean 3rd floor lanais may be accessed over the next couple weeks starting on 11/19/2024.  The construction crew is repairing wood at the roof edges. At times, this will require access to the 3rd-floor lanai. The construction crew will access the lanai from the roof and will not enter units. Currently, there is no timeline for the completion of these two buildings, but work must continue.

Pool Closure

The pool closure will be extended through November 16th, 2024. The additional day is needed to ensure the sealant “cures” on the flagstone and that all preparations are made to adjust the pool and spa chemistry.

The pool is expected to reopen November 17th, 2024 at 8:00am. Please inform your guests and on-island agents of the new opening date.

The Kona Community Aquatic Center (KCAC), is located at Kailua Park at 75-5500 Kuakini Highway.   Please call the pool at (808) 327-3500 for the most updated information.   This state-of-the-art center offers a variety of amenities, including a lap pool, diving boards, water slides, and a children's play area. 

Air Conditioning

The Association Of Apartment Owners Board of Directors (AOAO Board) have been opposed to the installation of any type of A/C units.  In order to make your stay more pleasant, VI has received temporary approval to equip each unit with one (1) single room A/C unit. 

A $15.00/day energy fee will be charged for the use of the single room A/C unit. Due to regulations from the AOAO, the location of the A/C unit might be in a bedroom or the living room and cannot be changed

To that effect, the A/C units are locked and will only be unlocked by the resort staff once the energy fee has been paid.

Smoke Free Resort

Sea Village is a smoke-free resort. A fine of $350.00 is issued for smoking in units, terrace/balconies, barbecues, pool areas and parking lots.

Volcanic activities can affect the air quality at the resort at any time.

Please be aware that break-ins occur more often in vacation areas and Sea Village and the surrounding resort area has seen an increase of this type of problem. Take care to secure any important or valuable items while on vacation.

Access:  The buildings are three stories with no elevator.  If a ground floor is required, please reserve an EZ access unit.

EZ Access Unit: If you have specific accommodation needs due to mobility or accessibility, please contact your Owner Services representative at 1.800.444.6633 to discuss your options. Due to the age and the structure of the building some units are not accessible for guests with mobility issues.

EZ Access 1- & 2-Bedroom Units are located on the ground floor.

1 Bedroom EZ Access Unit offers: roll-in showers & lowered sinks/counters.

2 Bedroom EZ Access Units offers: lowered sinks/counters.

Two (2) Bedroom EZ - Equipped with 1 Bath: To improve the guests' mobility and the access to the bathroom, the two (2) bedroom EZ units are equipped with only one (1) bathroom. The bathroom has a bathtub, a separate walk-in shower, 2 sinks and 1 toilet.

Interior Stairs: There are some two-bedroom units with interior stairs. This is in addition to the exterior stairs leading to the units.

Internet access has been upgraded at Sea Village. Each condo will have WiFi access in the unit.  Info regarding the network name and password will be given to guest at check-in. This upgrade will greatly improve WiFi access for our guest.

Resort Activities

Fees/Taxes

Fines: The following fines will be assessed for non-compliance.

Over-occupancy Policy: $50.00 per person, per night. Occupancy limits apply to all ages including infants.

No Pet Policy: $350.00. Pets are not allowed at VI Resorts.

No Smoking Policy: $350.00. Smoking and vaping (tobacco or Cannabis) are not allowed in rooms, on decks, lanais or patio.

Late Check-Out Policy: $25.00. Charged every half hour after check-out time of 11:00am. 

Fees

Accommodations/Lodging Tax: As required by state and local regulations, this nightly tax rate is based on condominium size and season and charged at the current rate upon arrival.
